"Send Kit with Live / Send Live Insects" is usually the best choice. You’ll save valuable time and you will receive everything you need in one convenient, exciting package. Please select a send out date from the calendar accessed by the blue button.

"Send Kit with Voucher / Send as a Voucher" is a good option only if you are not sure when you, or the recipient, will be ready to receive and raise the insects. Please note this option is not available for all products.

This rewarding educational kit is designed specifically for teachers and classrooms. It enables each student to raise their own Painted Lady Butterfly and witness the wonder of the butterfly life cycle. The Live Butterfly Pavilion School Kit provides educators with many opportunities to teach science, math, reading, environmental studies and environmental awareness.

The entire transformation from caterpillar to adult butterfly takes between three to five weeks depending on the time of year, please take into account upcoming holidays when choosing a send out date for your kit to ensure the whole cycle can be observed.

Included in the Live Butterfly Pavilion School Kit:

  • Collapsible and reusable 63cm tall Butterfly Pavillion Garden habitat
  • 33 live caterpillars or voucher (caterpillars available March to Mid-September)
  • Specially formulated, ready to use, caterpillar food (1 large and 1 small cup)

Habitat is re-useable, purchase a School Kit Refill here.

Please note - Immediately upon receipt of the caterpillars, you will need to distribute the food and caterpillars between the vials, instructions on how to do this are included.  If you should receive more than 33 caterpillars, any remaining may stay and develop in the cup they arrived in.

If you choose to upgrade to the DPD delivery option at check out for an order that contains a Live Kit, please be aware that your order will still be dispatched on your chosen send-out date. This service does not include weekend deliveries.
