When purchasing this product, please note it is a REFILL and includes a clear cup with caterpillars and food ONLY. Be sure to provide a habitat in which your butterflies will emerge, or purchase one of our Butterfly Kits that include everything you need!

All non-live orders leave our offices within 1-3 working days unless the item(s) are out of stock, or if your order includes a Live product with a chosen send-out date of 3 weeks or less away (in which case we will dispatch all goods, live and non-live, on the requested send out date).

"We have been buying the caterpillars for several years now. They are so therapeutic. Watching the tiny caterpillars grow and grow. Seeing the metamorphosis in action and close up. Then, finally seeing the beautiful Painted Lady Butterflies emerge. We release ours each year in memory of an organ donor and their family whose selfless final act gave our family member new life. The comparison with the emergence of the butterfly is so similar to life after transplant."

"We were very pleased with the caterpillars. They were easier to care for than I thought. Come in a cup of food and stay in there until a chrysalis on lid. Then move to the net and watch. Feed butterflies for a day or two. Really simple. It was amazing for us all but great for my daughter especially who could see your whole life cycle. Would do again perhaps with another creature."
