With this kit you can raise your very own Indian Stick Insects (Carausius morosus) from tiny eggs.
8-10 eggs are included, hatching can occur at any time from arrival and up to 2 months later, so some patience is required! When they begin to hatch start feeding the insects fresh bramble leaves, privet or ivy.
Your little pets will moult and grow until they mature at around 5 months old, when they will begin laying eggs of their own, so you can raise a new generation if you wish!
Life expectancy is around 12 months and a full instruction guide on the Living Twig kit is available to read before purchase if required.
Your Living Twig Stick Insect Kit includes:
- 30cm tall super clear mesh habitat
- 8-10 stick insect eggs, or voucher to redeem for the eggs (stick insect eggs available year-round, weather permitting)
- Instruction guide

ngs, Twig, Bud, Sprout & Groot, are growing quickly and LOVE their ivy leaves.
It costs almost nothing to look after them as all they need is leaves (which he cut from the local field), a mist of water, & a paper towel. I clean them out once a week with a fresh branch of ivy with a soaked paper towel on the end (I use a Pringles lid to contain this to keep their home from getting damp).
I’m a proud stick insect Mama, and my kids are fascinated with how much they’ve grown.
Their appetites and poop are growing as quickly as they are, so I may need to clean them out twice a week soon, but it takes minutes.

Yes, these will arrive in time for Christmas!
This kit comes with the live eggs which will hatch within a two month period. Occasionally we do have stock of young stick insects that have already hatched, so if you would prefer these, please keep an eye on the website!
The habitat is big enough for the amount of eggs we provide. However, should you wish to raise further generations, you may wish to provide a larger habitat.
For more information on this, please see our Stick Insect Instructions here: insectlore.co.uk/insect-kit-information
Orders to UK addresses should take 1-3 working days from the chosen dispatch date.
