Educational and fun with these living, walking sticks.
With this pack you can raise your very own Indian Stick Insects (Carausius morosus) from tiny eggs.
8-10 eggs are included, hatching can occur at any time from arrival and up to 2 months later, so some patience is required! When they begin to hatch start feeding the insects fresh bramble leaves, privet or ivy.
Your little pets will moult and grow until they mature at around 5 months old, when they will begin laying eggs of their own, so you can raise a new generation if you wish!
Life expectancy is around 12 months and a full instruction guide on the Living Twig kit is available to read before purchase if required.
You will need to provide a container that will allow enough space for the adult insects to hang down from a twig or leaves so they can shed their skins as they grow. An aquarium or similar container with a cloth cover held on by elastic makes a good home. Mesh net Habitats sold separately, or purchase a full Living Twig kit here.
Contains:
- 8-10 stick insect eggs, or voucher to redeem for the eggs (stick insect eggs available year-round, weather permitting)
- Instruction leaflet including estimated hatching dates of the eggs
Please note: These Stick Insects are not native to the UK, therefore cannot be released into nature.

We send a tube of 8-10 Stick Insect eggs.
The Stick Insects will begin to lay eggs once they reach maturity.
Full advise on what to do with these eggs is given within our instructions here: insectlore.co.uk/media/wysiwyg/downloads/Living_Twig_Kit_Instructions.pdf
Would it be possible to send us an email to hello@insectlore.co.uk with your order details and we can look into this further for you.
We send the eggs out with 2 months or less left to hatch, as when they are orginally laid they can take up to 5 months. If you wished to rear a second generation the eggs will hatch year round.
Room temperarure is fine for these, just make sure they are kept out of direct sunlight.
We are! Apologies, we realised the dates had not been uploaded! these are ready for you now!
