Butterfly Celebrations
What size and colour are the butterflies?
The Painted Lady butterfly has an average wingspan of 6.35 cm and is coloured with bright orange, black and white markings. We only raise one type - the Painted Lady butterfly, native to the UK and Europe.
What months are they available?
We ship our Butterfly Celebrations from April – September, weather dependant.
If I order online, how will you know what date I require the butterflies for?
During check out, on the basket page, please use the 'Gift options' dropdown and add the required date for your butterfly celebration in the message section.
But don't worry, a member of our team will always contact you within a few days to confirm details after your order has been placed.
How will they be packaged?
Each Butterfly Celebration box contains 50-100 butterflies and a butterfly feeder.
They are white on the outside and burgundy on the inside and secured with a silver bow.
How will my butterflies be delivered?
They will be delivered by express courier. Someone will need to be available to receive the order.
How do I care for my butterflies?
Easily! Your butterflies will arrive inside their special boxes. Using the pipette provided, squirt nectar into the sponge in the centre of the feeder. The pipette will fit nicely through the holes of the Butterfly Celebration box, so there is no need to open the top, feed them with sugar water and let them rest until the big day. Easy instructions included.
What happens if it rains?
If the butterflies are released in inclement weather, at night, or when temperatures are below 12°c they may not fly. We are unable to guarantee butterflies will fly away in any event, but especially in those conditions.
The ideal temperature for an effective release is 17°c or above.
Can you send outside of the UK?
Yes. We can take orders for weddings and special events taking place in the UK or in any EU country. Additional shipping charges will apply for orders outside mainland UK.
