"We received the set as a birthday present for my 4y girl, she has loved watching them grow and change and release."
"My 6 year old daughter had this for her birthday, and I must say I was just as invested in it as she was!!! What an absolutely incredible life cycle to watch, from tiny baby caterpillars to the most beautiful butterflies! We were so happy we got to watch some emerge from there Chrysalis! And seeing a butterflies tongue up close! When we released them they were so patient and stayed on our hands for ages allowing us to get an even closer look! We’re ordering more as we want to do it all over again!!!"
"A truly marvellous present. Received this at Christmas. Sent off for caterpillars in March. Was unsure if it would work. But gradually the caterpillars fattened up and attached themselves to the lid of the container. A couple of weeks later, after being moved into their habitat, I was sitting with my back to them, listening to some music and gradually became aware of a strange sound. . . Turned around to discover that the noise was the flapping of many wings! Beautiful experience for someone of nearly pensionable age. My son did this for me and I can safely say that it is the best present I have ever received. The instructions were clear and the encouraging emails arrived exactly when needed. Butterflies were released into a nearby orchard. Happy tears. Thank you"
"Our yearly favourite lifecycle. So many learning opportunities throughout the lifecycle of the butterfly. Would highly recommend"
"Me and my son are very happy. We have got 5 fully formed butterflies. That was superb experience and observation for me and my son. Today is a day that we gonna realise then in the park after school with some his friends. To be honest- I will be miss them 🤣🦋 but for sure we gonna order another in future."
"My little boy has loved this as well as the whole family it’s amazing how quick the process is and really easy"
"4 out of 5 cocoons hatched. Still hoping then 4th is just a late bloomer, but very happy with the pack I received my sons enjoyed the experience as much as me its my first time doing this 😀"
"At the moment only 2 out of five have survived. Three were attached last night to start the chrysalis stage to find them all On the floor this morning which is a real shame. I know this is no fault of insect lore and it has been fun so far to watch the caterpillars grow. Hope we can keep the other two going. Despite what has happened it is a fun thing to do with children."
"We really enjoyed this and all 5 chrysalides hatched out and we have just released them. I’m not that happy with the instructions though, as there are inconsistencies between the leaflet in the box, the leaflet with the caterpillars, the website and emails you get. We in one place there was no mention of how to feed them and I almost put a saucer of liquid in. Then I saw mention of using “tissue” elsewhere, so I did that and also added orange slices as well. Then somewhere else it said about cotton balls! It is nerve wracking when you have no experience to see different advice across the information provided. When we releases them, only one of them flew off and we left the rest on flowers in a sheltered spot on a sunny day. I hope they’ll be ok!"
